Machinery new and old come together for official celebration
AN impressive spectacle of agricultural machinery from both generations past and the modern day has marked the grand opening of Northern Australia’s largest field days.
Held in the arena of the Mareeba Rodeo Grounds, the Rotary FNQ Field Days hosted a grand parade for the first time as part of an official celebration.
Tablelands businessman Rex Petersen also showed off his impressive talents performing a range of balance-based tricks on his Bobcat.
Mareeba Shire Mayor Angela Toppin said the combined efforts of the Atherton and Mareeba Rotary Clubs to host such an event highlighted the importance of collaboration to bring visitors and economic benefits to the Far North region.
“The event is a major signature event for both the Mareeba Shire and the Tablelands Region, and we are delighted that the event has proceeded with a COVID Safe plan in place,” she said.
